Areas of Expertise

Market Analysis & Market Development

The path to product success requires a strategic and systematic approach, plus persistence and patience, whether launching a brand new product, introducing a product to a new market, or delivering beneficial new product releases. I have traveled these product journeys numerous times and understand the importance of ongoing market analysis, listening to customer feedback, and implementing a structured, yet flexible, go-to-market plan.

Product Management & Solution Management

Growing a product portfolio from concept to implementation to maturity requires a balance of creativity and technical skill across a large cross-functional team. As a successful product manager, I understand to important of having positive relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.  I have the ability to work at the big picture levels (i.e. use case and business case), or to dive into the technical details of implementation and integration architecture; and the discernment to apply the right level of info to the right audience.

Business Development & Customer Engagement

Once a product is released, we want to the product to reach the top and enjoy commercial profitability for as long as possible. This requires a smart roadmap of continuous improvement, and an ongoing vision of new innovations. I find inspiration in understanding customers’ challenges, then defining product implementations and solution architectures that meet their technical and business needs.

Career Highlights

As a product manager, I see the ability to communicate the product's technical attribute and value proposition as a key to success. This can be a virtual product pitch meeting, an in-person technical presentation and demo, a large sales training, working a tradeshow booth, or delivering a keynote speech at an industry event. I bring strong presentation skills and subject matter expert knowledge to customer and partner engagements.

For 15+ years, I have led pre-sales and post-sales engagements with customers to promote products, listen to business needs, visit call centers, ride along with field techs, deliver demos/trials, and lead integration projects. This customer interaction is crucial for identifying new real-world use cases, for enabling a customer-first view of product business cases, and for properly prioritizing roadmap opportunities.

During my product and solution management roles, I have worked with a range of software applications, including mobile apps, desktop applications, SaaS, enterprise software, and more. Because user interfaces, and user experience, are crucial aspects to the success of all software products, this must be a focus area for product management. I am only happy when I am proud to demo the user experience of my products!
